Microblading & Ombré
What is semi-permanent makeup?
Semi-permanent also known as Micro Pigmentation, is a revolutionary technique of applying fine pigments into the dermal layer of the skin. Semi-permanent makeup is technically permanent as it is considered a form of cosmetic tattooing but is often referred to as "semi-permanent" because the pigments applied are designed to fade over time. Factors that can determine how fast pigment can fade include sun exposure, iron deficiency, skin type and pigment color.
Is it safe?
Safety is our highest priority and we take every precaution to ensure any services rendered are safe. We adhere to the strictest sanitation and safety standards by using sterilized one-time disposable needles and hypoallergenic pigments for semi-permanent services. Our facility is fully compliant and certified with the OC Health Care Agency. A free consultation is highly recommended prior to your appointment to ensure we address any medical or safety concerns you may have.
Is it painful?
Most clients often report little to no discomfort throughout the procedure. If you have a low threshold to pain, a topical anesthetic can be applied prior to the procedure to numb the epidermis and mitigate any discomfort you may have.
How long does the procedure take?
Microblading and Ombré typically takes up to two hours but in some cases can take longer as each client requires varying degrees of attention and detail to achieve the best results.
How long is the recovery period?
The recovery period typically lasts 2-3 days but can take up to a week. Although some clients may experience slight swelling, return to normal daily activities can occur right away.
What can I expect after the procedure?
The experience can vary for each client after the pigmentation application process but what you can typically expect are:
-
Immediately after the process, the pigmentation will appear very natural.
-
The color of the pigment will appear much darker the next 2-4 days.
-
Your brows may begin to flake and scab the next 5-10 days. Be sure NOT TO REMOVE any scabs during this period as you may inadvertently remove pigmentation.
-
In the second week, your brows from the process may lighten and fade. This is absolutely normal and why a touch up is necessary after the healing process.
-
During the third to fourth week, your brows may appear patchy or incomplete during the healing process but will fill in eventually.
-
After four to six weeks, a touch-up will be performed and your brows will be restored to the first day you got them.
-
After your touch-up, you can expect the results to last up to 18 months as the pigment begins to fade. Annual touch ups can help extend your the results of your brows.
Are touch-ups required?
Touch-ups are absolutely necessary to maintain the results of your brows after you heal from your first session. Touch-ups allow us to fill in areas with pigment that do not pick up during the first session and make any adjustments to refine your brow's thickness, shape and pigment color.
